UPDATE: Woman shot while holding infant, suspect identified

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - A woman is fighting for her life after sustaining serious injuries during a shooting in south Fargo. Police say she was holding an infant, which its alleged that she dropped, when she was shot.

The shooting happened at Mezzo Apartments in the 2700 block of 47th Street S. around 9:45 Monday night.

Once on scene, a man told police his wife had been shot. According to police, the man stated a white Jeep with two people inside pulled up outside of their apartment. The man said he and the occupants of the Jeep got into an argument before everyone began exchanging gunfire.

A bullet struck the woman through the apartment window while she was holding the baby. The Jeep fled the scene.

Police are searching for the suspected shooter, who is potentially armed and dangerous. 23-year-old Tarnelle Abraham has warrants for aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. If you have any information, call 701-451-7660.
