FERGUS FALLS, M.N. (Valley News Live) - The body pulled from the Otter Tail River on Saturday has been identified.

Fergus Falls Police identified the victim as 46-year-old Alex Rodriguez, of Newburgh, New York. They say Rodriguez had lived in Fergus Falls for a few months and indicated to acquaintances that he was thinking of moving back east.

Around 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, a group of kayakers on the river discovered the body between Hannah Park and Broadway Avenue. The group called 911 right away.

Fergus Falls Police, Fire and EMS responded along with Otter Tail County Water Patrol. The body was recovered and sent to the Midwest Medical Examiners Office for an autopsy. Police say they do not suspect foul play.

Officers say it appears Rodriguez had been in the river for an extended period of time. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Fergus Falls Police Department at 218-332-5555 or 218-998-8555.
