2 winning tickets sold for $632 million Powerball jackpot
(Gray News) - Two tickets sold in Wisconsin and California matched the winning Powerball numbers drawn Wednesday night, Powerball announced.
Due to strong ticket sales, the jackpot reached $632.6 million by the time of the drawing. It was the seventh largest jackpot in Powerball history.
Two tickets matched all six winning numbers - 06, 14, 25, 33, 46 and 17 - the lottery said early Thursday. They were sold in Wisconsin and California.
The ticket holders will split the $632.6 million jackpot. Each ticket is worth $316.3, if paid as an annuity, or $225.1 million, if paid as a lump-sum.
In addition to the jackpot, 14 tickets sold were worth at least $1 million. The 12 tickets worth $1 million were sold in Arizona, California, Indiana, Maryland, Missouri, New Jersey, Texas, three in Florida and two in New York. Two tickets worth $2 million were sold in Florida and Georgia, according to Powerball.
The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 24.9. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million.
Jackpot winners may choose to receive their prize as an annuity, paid in 30 graduated payments over 29 years or as a lump sum payment.
