FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - The primary mission of the Fargo Air Museum is to inspire new generations of aviators. Their education program is chock full of exciting opportunities designed to rev the engines of future pilots, aircraft mechanics, air traffic controllers and more.

The aviation camps and school partnerships offer a variety of hands-on learning for school-age flight enthusiasts. They also offer group tours and activities for the younger daycare-age crowd.

In 2020, The Fargo Air Museum began an expansion of our youth education programming and now offer three different camps for local kids:

Youth Aviation Camps teach participants the fundamentals of a variety of aviation related topics. Participants are divided into Junior and Senior Aviators. Junior Aviators are between the ages of 6-10 and are welcome to attend either week. Senior Aviators are between the ages of 11-18 and go through a two part curriculum over the two days. Cost: FREE thanks to grant funding from the North Dakota Aeronautics Association.

Turn It, Build It! is an advanced STEAM camp that dives deeper into the topics covered in Youth Aviation Camps through hands on activities. Campers are invited to tinker with materials designed to foster necessary skills for a variety of careers. Turn It, Build It! participants are separated into a junior camp for ages 8-10 and a senior camp for ages 11-18. Cost: $20 Non-members | $10 Members

Introduction to Aviation camps are designed to spark excitement about aviation related fields through interactive experiences and engaging guest speakers from local organizations. Each camp will bring about new opportunities that give participants a glimpse into the wonderful world of aviation. Youth ages 8-18 are invited to participate. Campers may be split into Junior/Senior groups and are asked to register in the appropriate age group.
