DILWORTH, MINN. (Valley News Live) - Dilworth Police say since the start of October they have been responding to more criminal activity within city limits.

The chief of police Ty Sharpe said while they have identified the two suspects in the Oct. 8 burgalary of Silver Spike Bar and Grill, more crimes have followed.

On Oct. 13 a Dominos Pizza delivery car was stolen while the worker was delivering a pizza.

“You know when you’re delivering food or anything like that you don’t expect anyone to be around, so you know you’re not going to lock your car… you’re probably not going to turn it off,” said Sharpe.

The car they are looking for is a 2008 Red Dodge Avenger, and they don’t yet have a suspect.

Over the weekend of Oct. 16-17, Sharpe said they responded to three stolen cars and half a dozen break-ins. He said those crimes are 100% opportunistic.

“They’re only stealing cars if people have left the keys in them,” said Sharpe.

Sharpe is warning people to lock their cars, don’t leave valuables behind, and close garage doors.

Police say if you see anything suspicious call them at 218-287-2666.
