FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - Due to the frequent uprooting and resettling of military families, finding a stable career can be challenging for a military spouse. In fact, in the next year, one-fifth of military spouses will be looking for jobs sustainable enough to support themselves and their families.

Currently, the unemployment rate of military spouses is nearly three times greater than the national average. With 13% of military spouses unemployed, and 43% under-employed citing relocation, childcare responsibilities, and the economic impact of the pandemic as significant challenges.

Here to help are two experts, Navy Federal Commercial Banking Team Lead, Matthew Vean and Hires Heroes USA Human Resource Manager, Amy Dodson. They talk about the inaugural list of Best Careers for Military Spouses, what to look for when applying to jobs, and steps to starting a new career.
