Concordia announces new Sanford Heimarck School of Health Professions
The grand opening is set for Fall 2023
MOORHEAD, Minn. (Valley News Live) - TConcordia College announced the renaming of its School of Health Professionals.
The new Sanford Heimarck School of Health Professions is named in honor of Sanford Health’s support and contributions to Concordia College.
According to Concordia officials, Sanford has donated land and a building for the new school of health professions and Concordia plans to begin renovations on the Sanford Clinic building at the start of 2022.
The new school is also named in honor of the founder of Concordia’s healthcare leadership program, Ted Heimarck, and the renovated building will be named the Heimarck center.
President and CEO of Sanford Fargo, Brian Nermoe, said this new school is for the benefit of the entire region and the timing couldn’t be better.
“With what we are seeing coming out of the pandemic and the demand for services, and thus the need for more health care professionals,” said Nermoe.
Concordia Provost and Dean of the College, Susan Larson, said the new Heimarck center will hold space for nursing simulations, human performance laboratories, and classrooms.
“We really see this as an opportunity to be advancing the kind of innovative, team-based healthcare that our society needs,” said Larson.
The grand opening for the Sanford Heimarck School of Health Professions is set for fall 2023.
