HAWLEY, Minn. (Valley News Live) - A police officer in Hawley, Minnesota on patrol during Monday night’s storms caught quite the sight on his dash cam video.
The Hawley Police Department posted on their Facebook page that Officer Skoglund was patrolling on Hobart Street when lightning hit the Bell Bank right along Highway 10. Another angle of the lightning bolt can be seen from his police body camera.
You can see sparks fly from the building and the lights on the bank sign go out after the lightning strike.
The bank tells us they had some minor computer and phone issues, but have been operating business-as-usual.
