UPDATE: Fargo man threatening to start house on fire taken into custody

Olson is charged with two felonies; Terrorizing and Reckless endangerment - extreme indifference.

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - The man accused of dousing a kitchen with gasoline and threatening to start it on fire has been taken into custody.

Fargo Police have identified the suspect as 25-year-old Tristan Olson.

Crews first responded to the home at 1717 13 1/2 St. S. at around 2:30 a.m. on June 3rd for a report of a domestic disturbance.

A woman and child were evacuated from the home, while neighbors were told to shelter in place. Police set up a perimeter and shut off the gas to the home while they tried to communicate with the suspect.

Police said they used a drone to conduct a welfare check, but Olson was not found in the house. Officers obtained a warrant for the property and a gasoline can was found near a broken basement window, with gasoline visibly split on the ground.

According to court documents, a second gasoline can was found in the backyard of the house, and there was a strong smell of gasoline throughout the house.

Olson was located walking near the 1700 block of 13th Ave. S. He was given medical attention, and taken to Cass County Jail.
