UPDATE: Fire officials suspect electrical issue caused fire

WAHPETON, N.D. (Valley News Live) - UPDATE 3/8/21: The Chief of the Dwight Fire Department say investigators suspect an electrical issue caused the fire. However, the official cause is still under investigation.

UPDATE 3/7/21: A home in Wahpeton is now considered a total loss following a fire.

It was called in at around 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the 17000 block of Co. Rd. 10 SE. The fire was reported by a neighbor. The Dwight Fire Chief says they were there for about 6 hours.

No one was home at the time and no injuries were reported. The homeowners and family will be receiving American Red Cross Assistance. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

ORIGINAL: The Dwight Fire Department along with a few other agencies responded to a structure fire two miles west of Wahpeton.

WFD is reporting no injures occurred and that the call came in at 6:35 P.M. There is an ongoing investigation into what caused the fire.
