Cass County deputy arrested for DWI in Minnesota

FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - The Cass County Sheriff’s Office has opened an internal investigation on one of their employees after learning of a drunk driving arrest in Minnesota this past weekend.

Sheriff Jesse Jahner was notified Monday that the the Breckenridge Police Department arrested deputy Alisha Ettesvold for driving while intoxicated shortly after 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, according to a media release.

The agency said Ettesvold started her employment in May of 2020 and she’s currently a non-licensed correctional deputy in the Cass County Jail.

Ettesvold was placed on paid administrative leave as the internal investigation moves forward, according to the release.

This marks the second arrest of a Cass County deputy in less than two years for alleged drunk driving.

Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner released the following statement:

“It will always remain a top priority of the Cass County Sheriff’s Office to be transparent to the public and accept responsibility for our employee’s actions, both good and bad. We thank the Breckenridge Police Department in keeping the public safe and investigating this incident.”
