West Nile Season Hits Its Peak With Fewer Cases This Year

Posted: Updated:
The West Nile season is reaching its peak across the area, and the latest reports from health officials are showing this season may be a much less active one when compared to last year.

The Minnesota Department of Health is reporting just one human case of the virus.

A Pope County woman showed symptoms earlier this month, but was not hospitalized.

There were about 25 cases reported in Minnesota at this same time last year.

In North Dakota, there have been four human cases reported this year, two of those in Richland County.

Last year at this time, there were 34 cases.
