Posted: Updated:
An apartment complex was evacuated and two cats were saved in a north Fargo apartment after a fire broke out Saturday night.

Fargo fire crews responded to 1014 7th Street North just before 9 p.m. to the apartment where smoke and flames could be seen from the southwest corner of the building.

The person living in the apartment was not home at the time but two cats were rescued. One of them was given oxygen by FM Ambulance and then taken to the Red River Animal Emergency Clinic. The other cat appeared to be fine.

No one in the building was injured and the cause of the fire is still under investigation
