Drivers Beware: Traffic Crunch Expected in North Fargo Saturday

Posted: Updated:
Three major events in a section of north Fargo Saturday could -- and probably will -- cause some traffic delays.

From Fargo Police: Three events will be taking place around NDSU campus and the FargoDome that will significantly increase traffic and cause congestion.

1.      Starting Saturday morning and continuing throughout the day, NDSU will allow students to move into the resident's halls.

2.      The F-M RedHawks play a home game Saturday evening at Newman Outdoor Field with gates opening at 5 p.m. and the first pitch at 6 p.m.

3.      The FargoDome will host the Katy Perry concert with doors opening at 6 p.m.

In addition, there is an on-going road construction project on 19th Avenue North between 10th Street and 18th Street. All eastbound traffic on 19th Avenue North is currently being detoured southbound on 18th Street to 17th Avenue. The Fargo Police Department, in conjunction with NDSU, the FargoDome, and the FM RedHawks, encourages motorists to plan accordingly if they are attending one of these events, or if they have travel plans in this area during the evening of Aug. 23. Motorists can expect delays and should consider using other roads such as 40th Avenue North (County Road 20), 12th Avenue North, University Drive North, and 10th Street North as alternate travel routes.
