A woman was cited in a crash that left a motorcyclist injured on Monday.  The North Dakota Highway Patrol says Nichole Teeuwen, 30, changed lanes on Interstate-29 in Fargo while a motorcycle was trying to pass her just after 2:00 p.m.

Adam Lauinger, 22, was driving his Kawasaki motorcycle on I-29 when the crash happened. Authorities say Lauinger was trying to pass Teeuwen, but she didn't see him and started to change lanes. The motorcycle got cut off and Lauinger hit the breaks, losing control of the bike.

The motorcycle came to rest in the right lane of the interstate and Lauinger ended up near the I-29/I-94 ramps in south Fargo. Authorities say about $1,500 of damage was done to the motorcycle.  The van Teeuwen was driving hit a post on the side of the road and has minor damage to the front bumper. The motorcycle and the van never hit each other.

Lauinger was taken to Essentia Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  Teeuwen was cited for changing lanes without regard to other traffic and driving without liability insurance.
