Crookston Police Investigating String of Vehicle Break Ins

Crookston, MN police are asking people to make sure to lock their vehicle doors after a string of thefts.

Since July 22nd the Crookston Police Department has responded to nine vehicle break ins.  Most of the incidents involved the vehicles being left unlocked overnight.

Investigators have also received two reports of vehicle theft. 

One of the stolen vehicles was recovered in Crookston on July 28th.  On August 3rd the CPD recovered the second stolen vehicle in the Red Lake River. 

The CPD is urging people to help keep the community safe by locking vehicle doors every time you leave the vehicle for any length of time.

Police say thefts from vehicles happen anytime during the day or night and it only takes seconds to have something stolen.  Please report any theft or suspicious activity to the Crookston Police at 218-281-3111.

All these cases remain under investigation.
