Tips To Stay Safe From Identity Theft

Posted: Updated:

Summer is a great time to take a vacation, but fraudsters never take time off.

The Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota offers advice to make sure you're safe from identity theft while away.

First: Don't announce vacation plans on social media. This will alert criminals that your home is vacant and may make it an area of interest.

Also, in case your wallet or purse gets stolen, keep a record of your credit card, passport and other important numbers and put them in a safe place.

And finally, go through bank statements and make sure you don't have any unauthorized charges when you get home.
