UPDATE: Authorities Found Missing 30-Year-Old Man

  Authorities found a missing Crookston man this evening, following a 4-hour search by emergency personnel.

  A helicopter from U.S. Customs, along with police and fire personnel searched for 30-year old Brian Olson, from 3 o’clock this afternoon, until he was found just before seven.

  Authorities checked Olson’s apartment, before they began searching the banks of the Red Lake River this afternoon. They’d received phone text’s showing Olson was along the river.

  However, Police received word from his wife that he had returned to his apartment tonight.

Paul Biermaier, Crookston Police Chief: “With the help of his wife, we located him in town. He’s unharmed and everything is good. He’s being checked out medically right now. So, it’s a good ending to it.”

    Biermaier says around 30 people from U.S. Customs and Police and Fire Departments took part in the search.

  Authorities have been searching for a missing Crookston man, who may be suicidal.

  A helicopter from U.S. Customs, along with police and fire personnel started searching for 30-year old Brian Olson at 3 p.m. Thursday.

  Authorities have been searching the banks of the Red Lake River through Crookston. However, they do not believe Olson is in the river.

  They’ve been texting with him throughout the day, trying to talk him into coming in.

  Olson is described as 6-feet, 4-inches tall, 200 pounds with blue eyes. He was wearing jeans and a camo shirt

Paul Biermaier, Crookston Police Chief: “There’s been limited conversation with him through some texting. And that’s where we’ve been trying to utilize cell phone services and get a better location on his cell phone. We believe he’s near the water or had been. But, we’ve got no reason to believe he’s actually in the water.”
