Trying to Approve the Grand Sky Business Park

Posted: Updated:

The Commander of Grand Forks Air Force Base met today with U.S. Secretary Heidi Heitkamp about the best way to get the Grand Sky Business Park at the base approved.

They talked about creating a successful long-term partnership between the Air Force and local communities, the base's mission and the growth of UAS Industry in North Dakota.

"Expand our industrial base in both the agricultural and the energy area for this kind of technology. And so it's enormously exciting for North Dakota so we're hopeful that we'll continue to see this project move forward," Heitkamp said.

In April, FAA Administrator Michael Huerta came to North Dakota and announced Grand Forks is the nation's first UAS test site to be officially up and running.
