A Fargo man is in jail surrounding the incident at the Thrifty White Pharmacy, first reported as an armed robbery Wednesday afternoon in Breckenride, Minnesota. Christopher McCourt was arrested in Fargo on charges of having prescription medication taken from the pharmacy.

Police got a call Wednesday of an armed robbery in progress.  Several law enforcement agencies responded, including a SWAT team.  When they entered the pharmacy, it was empty.  McCourt apparently slipped out.

He was arrested in Fargo and authorities say he could also face additional charges in Wilkin County.

New information is emerging from Wednesday night's attempted robbery at a Breckenridge drug store.   Police say it appears the person of interest in the case was attempting to get drugs at the Thrifty White Pharmacy, and investigators are talking with prosecutors to determine charges.

Police say they got a call that an armed robber had entered The Thrifty White pharmacy around 5:30 p.m. After surrounding the building, the SWAT team entered the store about 8:00 p.m. but didn't find anyone inside.

Investigators tell Valley News Live they have identified a person of interest, but the individual has not been taken into custody at this point. A review of 911 calls and interviews with witnesses found a weapon may not have been shown during the incident, no shots were fired and no one was hurt.

Police continue to investigate, we'll bring you more information as it becomes available.

BRECKENRIDGE, M.N. - What was thought to be a botched robbery and then standoff with authorities has turned into a search.

Breckenridge Police, and several other law enforcement agencies including SWAT, responded to a robbery 911 call at Thrifty White at 126 5th Street North in Breckenridge, Minnesota.

Officers say a man walked in with a gun and pointed at one of the employees. There were four workers inside at the time. They all were able to get out safely. Initially, there were reports of gunshots.

The Police Chief, Nate Harder told us the man has escaped, but they are working on several leads and have several suspects at this time.

Now, investigators are reviewing store footage for any additional clues.

Police are not sure if anything was actually stolen from the pharmacy. The man is still at large, but police say he is not dangerous.

We will keep you updated as we find out more information.
