Dozens Arrested During Highway Patrol Saturation

 Dozens were arrested during an alcohol saturation in cass county throughout the week. Troopers from the North Dakota Highway Patrol set up in the metro interstate area of Fargo and West Fargo looking for impaired drivers from July 8-13. 

Troopers issued the following throughout the saturation:
·         232 – written warnings
·         516 – citations
·         18 – DUI arrests
·         10 – driving under suspension arrests
·         14 – no liability insurance citations
·         7 – open container citations
·         6 – possession/consumption of alcohol by person under 21
·         4 – weapons charges (2 loaded firearms in a motor vehicle)
·         7 – drug related arrests
·         1 – resisting arrest
·         2 – simple assault arrests
·         48 – no seat belt citations
·        13 – motor vehicle crashes investigated ( Zero fatal crash victims at release time)
            Approximately 25 percent of all traffic fatality victims in North Dakota this year have been killed in alcohol-related crashes. The goal of the saturation was deter and detect impaired drivers to prevent additional traffic crashes and deaths because of impaired drivers.
