Is Ethanol Gas Destroying Your Boat Engine?

Posted: Updated:
There's a renewed debate surrounding certain ethanol blended gas.

The National Marine Manufacturers Association is warning you that E-15 ethanol gas can harm boat engine. And, even void a boat engine's warranty.

Pat Kovash, owner of Kovash Marine agrees.

He deals, and fixes boats, he says ethanol  is destroying boat engines.

"We took 40 boats in on Monday, and 20 of them are probably ethanol related there's nothing you can do to avoid it, you are either going to get ethanol or methanol in your fuel, and both of them are fairly corrosive," says Kovash.

A Repetitive with the corn growers association says any vehicle can use e-10 safely, saying this is a warranty issue, not an ethanol issue.
