EPA Assesses Pipeline Leak Near ND Reservation

Posted: Updated:
An agent from the Environmental Protection Agency is on their way to Mandaree, ND to assess and monitor the cleanup of a leaking saltwater pipeline.

The MHA nation says a saltwater pipeline owned by Crestwood Midstream, on the Fort Berthhold Reservation began leaking Tuesday.

The tribe has closed the Mandaree Water Intake, as they test the water for any contamination. They say there are no specific concerns over water safety in the rural water system.

Since the pipeline is on tribal land, the North Dakota Department of Health is not involved in overseeing the cleanup.
