West Fargo City Leaders Vote to Give Themselves a Pay Raise

Posted: Updated:
West Fargo city leaders unanimously voted to give themselves a 25-percent pay raise. The pay bump proposal includes the city commission and mayor.

Right now commissioners make $7,689 dollars per year. With the raise their pay would be $10,200 dollars per year. Mayor Rich Mattern currently makes $11,535 dollars each year and his pay would be $15,000 dollars per year under this proposal.

The first reading of the proposal was Monday night. If it passes the second reading during West Fargo's commission meeting on the July 21, the raise would take effect in January. If approved, the pay bump would also be the first for the city leaders in six years.
