Update: No Foul Play Suspected In Death Of McIntosh, MN Man

Posted: Updated:
We have new information regarding the suspicious death of a McIntosh, Minnesota man.  McIntosh is 60 miles east of Grand Forks.

Authorities have now identified the man as 60-year old Richard Wagner of McIntosh. Wagner was found deceased at his McIntosh home on Saturday, where neighbors say his son also stayed from time to time.

Authorities say Wagner was disabled and investigators spent nearly two days at the scene.

Sgt. Mike Norland, Polk Co. Sheriff’s Dept.: “It’s one that we obviously want to make sure we cover thoroughly. Just make sure we don’t miss something.”

Investigator Norland says in so many words, from what they know from the preliminary autopsy report, no foul play was involved in Wagner’s death.

Reporter: “At this point, no charges?”

Sgt. Mike Norland: “At this point, no charges. No.”

Reporter: “Do you expect any?”

Sgt. Mike Norland: “At this time, no.”

Norland isn’t releasing any details of that preliminary autopsy report. He says they’ll wait, until they receive the full report, which will detail Wagner’s exact cause of death, before making a final judgement on the case. But for now it appears no foul play was involved, since authorities don’t expect anyone to be arrested.

It’s expected to take 2 to 3 weeks to get the results of that full autopsy report in this case.
