UPDATE

One man is in custody following a deadly crash in Otter Tail County that killed a woman on the 4th of July.  The Otter Tail Count Sheriff's Office arrested David Shane Hamil for criminal vehicle homicide and believe alcohol was involved in the crash.

It happened on Friday, July 4 on County Highway 31 near Franklin Lake.  Officers say around 1:30 a.m. they got a call from campers saying someone needed help on the east side of the lake. When officers arrived, they found one vehicle rolled over with two people inside.

Hamil was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries but a passenger, Holly Nicole Homewood, was pronounced dead at the scene. Officers say the vehicle was heading south on Highway 31 and missed a curve in the road causing it to roll.

Hamil is a 42-year-old from Cape Coral, Florida. Homewood is a 29-year-old from New Waverly, Texas.
