Church In Rural Moorhead Is Being Given Away

Posted: Updated:
While one church in Moorhead is trying to save what they can, another congregation, not to far away, is trying to give their building away.

Oak Mound Congregational Church in the Kragnes Township closed their doors almost three years ago.

They are looking for someone to take the building and turn it into a place of worship again.

"Many people were baptized, confirmed and married all in the same church, and even where their parents and grandparents funerals were held," says Alex Swanson, who grew up in the church.

"We didn't want to see it sit here and fall away, we didn't want it to deteriorate and fall away," says Alvin Swanson, Alex’s grandfather.
