Community comes together to grieve death of Andrew Sadek

MOORHEAD, M.N. -- After nearly two months of searching, NDSCS student Andrew Sadek's body was found in the Red River. Valley News Live sat down with a few of Sadek's friends who are remembering the man they miss.

"Losing somebody who's that nice, somebody who shouldn't be gone right now," said Justin Rippentrop. "He was still so young, so full of life, he had so much to live for."

Justin Rippentrop grieves over the death of a close friend. The Wilkin County Sheriff's Office confirmed Saturday the body pulled from the Red River was missing North Dakota State College of Science student Andrew Sadek.

"He was top of the line guy," said Rippentrop. "He would really, actually give his shirt off his back for anybody."

Rippentrop considered Sadek a close friend. They met in 2012 and instantly bonded. Sadek taught him to fire spin which was one of their favorite past times. But, every moment was memorable.

"Best memory was playing Super Mario in our basement for like three hours straight," said friend Johnee Sokolofsky.

While friends and family now have answers they've all been desperately searching for, more questions have come up. Sadek went missing just two weeks before graduation and then police charges.

"I don't know if he was running from somebody or something," Rippentrop told Valley News Live. "I don't know like what it was, I just don't know."

Friends and family have some closure that Sadek's body has been returned home, but it doesn't erase the pain.

"I can't imagine what it's like to lose, you know, a son," said Rippentrop. "But, I know that the pain is real.
