Billy Daniels Foundations While the City Sleeps fundraising concert was held at the Merc Theatre in Old Town Temecula on May 24, 2014. Turnout was a success, and tickets to the concert were sold out. However, fundraising efforts during the concert werent as successful as BDF had hoped they would be. Despite the presence of two upscale retail line offeringsAntique Curious and Two Peacocksand a silent auction of local wines and services, the foundation raised only $1,000 during the event.

Despite the low amount of donations received, Chief Executive Officer Dominique Daniels and several Board Members are encouraged by the positive reaction to the event and the praise from students and attendees. Its clear that the local community values performing arts education. BDF stresses that the opportunity is always available to make donations in any amount above $10 online at http://www.billydanielsfoundation.org/Sitemap.html. Volunteer opportunities are also available.

It is apparent that the communities of underserved students are in desperate need of funds to keep these well-deserving students participating in the arts, Daniels states. But philanthropic giving seems to be at an all-time low from the community, at a crucial time when our community risks losing arts education services completely.

There are many well-deserving students who will be applying for performing arts scholarships through Billy Daniels Foundation in the fall. The Foundation is continuously applying for private and federal grants and hopes that it can meet this high demand. However, the Foundation is fearful that it wont be able to meet these funding demands unless a sufficient amount of donations are made before July 31, 2014.

Billy Daniels Foundation is unlike other music scholarship programs in that it attempts to support scholarship recipients all the way through high school graduation, with continuous financial assistance and support. The Foundation also provides scholarship loans of instruments for periods of six months to a year and in special cases, gifts instruments to school districts, keeping band participants playing without their practicing and performance being affected by poor equipment conditions.

Billy Daniels Foundation encourages anyone whod like to support the Foundation, visit http://www.billydanielsfoundation.org/Sitemap.html. Any amount can help make a difference for student performers. Help keep our students interest in remaining in school through the gift of an arts education, Daniels continues. The Arts is the best way to motivate students who are not necessarily academically inclined to graduate high school. Any amount helps us to continue our support. We at the Billy Daniels Foundation are grateful for the help our local and national community provide in enabling the foundation to help deserving students.
