Grand Forks Police Revoke License for Dish One Satellite

Posted: Updated:
After complaints from people in the Grand Forks area, the City has revoked a license for a satellite television service. As of Thursday, June 19, the Transient Merchant License issued by the City of Grand Forks to Dish One Satellite has been revoked.

Dish One Satellite has been conducting door-to-door sales and installation of satellite television service.  The city revoked the license after several complaints from people describing business practices that would constitute violations of city code. All sales by Dish One Satellite have been stopped, but if you bought services from them and are satisfied, the service may continue until the contract is up.

The Grand Forks Police Department has made contact with the corporate office in Utah about the revocation.  Both of the managers in the Grand Forks area were spoken to by Cpl. Nelson who advised them to cease and desist sales immediately.

If you have any questions, you can contact the Police Department at 701-787-8000. Questions, concerns or comments may also be directed to the GFPD website at: www.grandforksgov.com/police or to the GFPD Facebook page.
