High Water Closes Some Roads in Moorhead

Posted: Updated:

A swollen Red River has forced Moorhead City Street Crews to close 3rd street North near the Moorhead Center Mall.

Public Works Director Steve Moore tells Valley News Live that typically the water will recede from that area around 20-21 feet. Depending on the amount of silt, clean up can take anywhere from a couples of hours to all day. Bike paths along this area are also closed.

Riverfront Park Road by Usher’s parking lot is closed.  Gates are closed at Usher’s parking lot, as well as the Riverside high rise. The road has been closed most of the spring and early summer.  Bike paths are also closed in this area.

Also, Highway 75 near Kent, MN closed late Wednesday night due to flooding.  It had recently re-opened, but is closed again.
