Valley Today Golf Lessons: Use Your Ball to Make More Putts

Posted: Updated:
There's a golf saying that goes, "If you hit it on the right line with the right speed the ball will go in."  Of course that's easier said than done.  But it's a good reminder about the two important factors in putting, distance and direction.

In this week's Valley Today Golf Lesson head pro Lisa Schwinden from Osgood Golf Course in Fargo shows us how to use our ball to make more putts.

Lisa says the easiest thing to do when your ball is on the green is to use the line on your ball to point where you want the ball to go.

So if the putt is going to break a little to the right, point the line just to the left of the hole.
Once you get the direction all figured out you can step up and just feel how much stroke you need for how much distance.
When you get the right amount of stroke match the line of the ball to the line of your putter, take your stance and hit the putt.

Lisa and the other pros at Osgood offer variety of lessons for every level of golfer.  For more information click here.
