1,700 Getting Filthy At Hard Charge Mud Run

Almost 2,000 people packed the fairgrounds today in West Fargo. To run four miles in the mud, crawl through water, and climb ropes.

It's called Hard Charge. This is the second time the event has made it has way to the valley.

Attendance is better than last year, and organizers say the nice weather had something to do with it.

Hard Charge benefits Children's Miracle Network.

"It was awesome, it's so much fun getting dirty, when you're a mom, and you work, you don't have a chance to get dirty," says Jamie Sylling, who ran in the race today.

Peter Neal completed the run with one arm, he says the race is like life. You have to find another way to get what you want done. "It was a little slippery, a little sticky, but you know it's not that bad not worse than anything else, hey people pay good money to take a mud bath," he says.

Health experts are say if you are doing a mud run, try not to swallow any. Nationwide there have been incidents of people getting sick from bacteria.
