68 cats have been removed from a South Fargo house, and the work is far from being done. Authorities suspect there could be dozens more.

Fargo Police discovered this unusual animal hoarding case a couple of weeks ago. They are live trapping the cats. They are trying to get all of them out of the house that could take weeks.

Many of them are feral, and are not receiving proper care. At this point, police are not identifying the homeowner and say she is cooperating. So, no charges are being pressed right now.

"Love gone wrong, and loving animals is great, but when you can't take care of them and they start suffering. I think that's a time that something needs to get done," says Tim Anton, who lives on the block.

Many of the feral cats need to be put down. The adoptable ones will be going to local animal shelters, and hopefully will find a loving home.

The top priority for police is getting all the cats out of the house. Once they are all out the city will check into the health and safety of the woman, her house and the neighborhood.

Police are also hoping the homeowner will pay for some of the expenses surrounding the cats.

Original Story:
Over the past several weeks Fargo Police have been removing cats from a home in Fargo. Police were called to a house on 7th Ave and 11th Street for an accidental 911 call. When they arrived they found dozens of cats. They suspect over 100 cats total.

Some of the cats are stray or feral, and police believe they are not receiving proper care. They are being removed with live traps, and it could take a few more weeks to get them all out.

The homeowner is cooperating with police, and no charges are being pressed currently.

Some cats will need to be put down, and others will be put in local pounds or shelters. Police are hoping the homeowner will pay for some of the expenses.
