Downtown Fargo Building Evacuated Because of Smoke on 7th Floor

Posted: Updated:
People have been let back into the Black Building in downtown Fargo after smoke forced their evacuation Monday morning.

Fire crews say there was a lot of smoke coming from the 7th floor of the Black Building. Firefighters had to use their fans to air out the building. It appears an air conditioner motor malfunctioned. Someone in the building noticed the smoke, pulled the fire alarm and called 911.

There was some damage done to an office space.

About 40 people were evacuated. There are no reports of anyone getting hurt.
