UPDATE: All lanes open on I-94 near 25th Street South

Posted: Updated:
UPDATE

As of Tuesday, motorists traveling on Interstate 94 (I-94) near the 25th Street South reconstruction project will hopefully encounter decreased congestion.  All lanes of traffic in both eastbound and westbound directions throughout this stretch are open.

Earlier this week, crews began preliminary work to construct an additional ramp from the 25th Street South Bridge. They had initially anticipated that this closure would last for three weeks, but were able to minimize impacts with a shoulder closure.

On I-94 eastbound in the work zone, speeds are still set at 40 miles per hour due to the shoulder closures and a shortened merging lane for 25th Street South traffic merging on to I-94 eastbound.

ORIGINAL STORY
One of the biggest road construction projects in the valley is about to get bigger this Monday morning when crews start working on the Interstate 94 on-ramp at 25th Street South.
Barriers will be moved to close the right lane of eastbound I-94. It's expected to be closed for three weeks. The ramp will allow northbound traffic on 25th Street to merge eastbound without crossing oncoming traffic.
Tuesday, all westbound lanes on I-94 are expected to reopen.
