Fish For Free This Weekend

Posted: Updated:
This is your weekend to try fishing because for most of valley, it's not going to cost you anything.

All North Dakota residents can go fishing without a license today, and tomorrow.

But all other fishing regulations still apply.

In Minnesota, it's take a kid fishing weekend. So if you bring a child fishing with you, age 15 or younger, you're free to fish.

"Fishing permits are very expensive, it will make it easier for parents to fish with their kids, I know if you are under the age of 16 you don't need a permit, but parent wise, I know a lot of times you usually stand there and watch the kid fish because it's expensive," says Katelyn Karbbenhoft with Fargo Parks Campground.

If you can't bring a kid fishing with you, Minnesota residents general can fish in state parks without a fishing license. If the body of water doesn't require a trout stamp.
