DISCUSSION: Showers and storms this morning will slowly dissipate and move out of the area leaving the region under variably cloudy skies. Winds will be out of the northwest for much of the day ranging from 5 to 15 MPH with some stronger gusts. Late this afternoon and evening, we'll see a chance for a few storms, especially in our far eastern counties in Minnesota. Any storms that do form could be strong to perhaps severe. Look for highs in the 70s and 80s. Tonight, any storms off to the east will move out of the area, and we'll have partly cloudy skies and overnight lows mainly in the 50s. Saturday will be a cooler day with highs mainly in the 70s across the area, with northwesterly winds of 10 to 20 MPH and gusty and some showers possible, especially across the north. Cool again on Sunday with dry conditions.

TODAY: Afternoon thunderstorms possible mainly in western Minnesota. WIND: WNW 5-15 mph. Temperatures near a High of 84.

SATURDAY: Mostly cloudy. Passing showers and thundershowers, especially in the north. Windy & Cooler day. Wind: W 15-35 mph. .  Low: 61. High: 79.

SUNDAY: Partly cloudy. Light winds and below average temps. Northwest breeze with spotty showers across western MN. Low: 56. High: 77.
