25th Street Construction Impacting Property Owners

Drivers traveling along Interstate 94 will see delays and detours again Thursday evening as construction crews continue to remove parts of the bridge deck on the west side of 25th Street. On June 5, 2014 between 8 p.m. and into June 6, 2014, I-94 eastbound traffic will be detoured around the 25th Street bridge. The traffic will be sent down 25th Street, up to 32nd Ave South and then to University drive where they can merge back onto I-94. Additionally Motorist on 25th Street will not be able to use the eastbound loop ramp to access I-94.

Drivers traveling along Interstate 94 and 25th Street in Fargo will see some major delays and detours again Thursday evening. Construction crews continue to remove parts of the bridge deck on the west side of 25th street. Between 11 p.m. and Friday at 6:00 a.m drivers will not be able to go eastbound to Moorhead.

Another concern that homeowners in the area have is whether or not they'll lose their sidewalks or city boulevard near their property because of the lanes being added to 25th street. The North Dakota Department of Transportation says the only major change some homeowners will see is that a portion of the boulevard will be gone on both sides of the street and replaced with a driving lane.

"It is a snug fit for sure...were using up every inch that we have to get everything to fit. We were able to get it in the existing right away and we did get some temporary easements along there so we can match the grades," says ND Dept. of Transportation Kevin Gorder.

Gorder says most of the project that requires the use of residential property is just temporary. The lane reductions on the interstate will be changing within the next two weeks, so be prepared to take it slow and give yourself extra time to get to your destination.
