Hidden Cash Craze in Fargo

Posted: Updated:

The hidden cash craze sweeping the country stopped in Fargo today.

Clues tweeted by @FargoHiddenCash shortly after noon had recycling centers all over the city being searched.

"Then they tweeted again 'If it doesn't stop raining, we're going to have to row row row away,' and now we're here at Rheault Farms," says Fargo Hidden Cash Hunter Alek Halverson.

While some were searching at Rheault Farm, one of the envelopes turned up elsewhere.

"We found it at the Eagles Education Center... over by Pioneer House on University," says Fargo Hidden Cash Winner Reid Anderson.

He and his coworker say they were pretty excited about finding an envelope with $100- jumping up and down, screaming and giving high fives.

@FargoHiddenCash says they want the lucky winners to pay it forward.

"There's a lot of willing charities around here and deserving charities around here that could probably use it," says Anderson's coworker and Fargo Hidden Cash Winner JR O'Hara.

Though the two say they haven't thought a lot about what they'll do with the split winnings.

"I'll probably buy my wife something nice. It's our anniversary actually coming up Thursday," says Anderson.

Back at Rheault Farm, the envelope had been found shortly after the second tweeted clue. Carrie Darrah says it just took her a few minutes to tweet it out.

"Hopped in the car and brought the recycling over and looked around the corner of the bin and found it right away," says Darrah.

Her envelope had $200.

"I told the girls at work that I would buy them lunch tomorrow and not sure what else I will do with the rest," she says.
