Posted: Updated:
A driver was cited after running into a light pole on Tuesday afternoon, knocking it on top of another vehicle. The crash happened just after 12:20 p.m. on  the 4300 block of Gateway Drive in Grand Forks.

Officers of the Grand Forks Police Department were dispatched and found that a 2005 Freightliner traveling west on Gateway Drive attempted to turn north onto a frontage road. The driver turned too sharply and struck a light pole with his trailer. The light pole fell onto a nearby vehicle occupied by two state Department of Transportation employees.

The operator of the freightliner was Paul Price, a 45-year-old from Grand Forks. Price was issued a citation for care required. No injuries were reported.

The Grand Forks Police Department reminds all motorists to stay alert, maintain awareness of your surroundings and wear your seatbelt on every trip.
