It's Memorial Day, another year and day of remembrance to honor the ultimate sacrifice of America's fallen soldiers. To honor those who have served their country, several Memorial Day services will be held around the Valley. We've included a list below:

Fargo:     


Holy Cross, 32nd Ave N., Fargo: 8:20 Form up, 8:30 March in Salute, Taps, Legion and Amvets echo.  
Chaplain Sharon Kaseman, Fargo VFW. Other North side Cemeteries Salute and Taps between 8 and 9 AM Amvets, American Legion

Veterans Memorial Bridge: Form up  9:30 Am,  Program 9:45.
Wreath Laying by Viet Nam Veterans of America, Salute by Fargo American Legion

Riverside Cemetery*, 5th St. and 22nd Ave. S., Fargo:  Form up at 10:30 am.  Ceremony 11:00 am.  
MC: Larry Reed, Commander American Legion Post 308, West Fargo. Chaplain: Chaplain Sharon Kaseman, Fargo VFW Post 762. Chaplain Greetings: U.S. Senator John Hoeven, Fargo Mayor Dennis Walaker. Speaker: Steve Volk, Grand Commander North Dakota M.O.C. of the VFW. Fly Over by Toby McPherson. Refreshments will be served.

Sunset Cemetery*, 48th Ave. and University Drive S. Fargo., Form up at 12:30 (aprox.)
MC: Larry Reed, Commander American Legion Post 308, West Fargo. Chaplain: Chaplain Sharon Kaseman, Fargo VFW Post 762. Chaplain Greetings: Steve Volk, Grand Commander North Dakota M.O.C. of the VFW. Refreshments will be served.

Lindenwood Park, Submarine Memorial.  Fargo VFW will do Salute at 1PM.

*If raining at 8:30 AM we have the option to move Riverside and Sunset ceremony to the Civic Center.

Fargo Activities:
Amvets 1001 1st Ave S. A picnic lunch will be served.
VFW  202 Broadway will be open for the day. Coffee and Cupcakes will be served after ceremonies.

Moorhead and Dilworth:
The Moorhead American Legion Post 21 and Dilworth VFW Post 1223 Color Guards will be at the following locations on Memorial Day Monday May 26th.  Military Honors will be given at each location which includes:  Rifle Salute, Prayer, and Taps.   The public is invited to view the Military Honors and attend the ceremony at the Moorhead National Guard Training and Community Center (Armory) 1002 15th Ave. N. Moorhead at 11:00 AM.  Below times are within 10 minutes either way unless noted as "firm": 
7 AM (Firm)-Main Ave Veteran's Memorial bridge
7:15-8:15-Breakfast at Moorhead Fry'n Pan
8: 45 AM-Moorhead Memorial Gardens (S. Moorhead)
9:15AM-Sabin (Both Cemeteries)
10:00AM-Evergreens (S. Moorhead)
10:15 AM-St Joseph's North Moorhead (N. Moorhead)
10:3040 AM-Riverside North Moorhead (N. Moorhead)
11 AM (Firm)-Program @ National Guard Armory - Public Invited. Guest Speaker will be Moorhead Mayor De Ray Williams
Moorhead American Legion open after ceremony, Dilworth VFW closed.

West Fargo:
West Fargo VFW on Sheyenne St.: Flag Raising at Post at 10:45 AM, Program at Post at 11:00. Guest Speaker SSG Eric Jungler.
A luncheon of ham and scalloped potatoes will be served by Auxiliary.

Harwood:
Harwood Oakwood Cemetery, 10:00 AM:  Guest Speaker Ron Mathews, Past Post 2 Commander American Legion, Fargo, ND and Membership Chairman for the Department of ND. Afterwards a free will offering lunch will be served at American Legion Club by the Auxiliary afterwards.  (If it rains, all will be held at the club.)

East Grand Forks:
East Grand Forks Memorial Day service, 11 a.m., Resurrection Cemetery, located at the intersection of River Road Northwest and County Road 19. The Honor Guard will also have services at 8:30 a.m. at Bethany South Cemetery, 8:45 a.m. at Bethany North Cemetery, 9 a.m. at Tabor Chech National Cemetery, 9:15 a.m. at Tabor Lutheran Cemetery, 9:25 a.m. at Tabor Catholic Cemetery, 9:50 a.m. at Nisbet Cemetery.

Grand Forks:
Grand Forks Memorial Day program, 9:30 a.m., Memorial Park Cemetery North, 1003 N. 23rd St.

Grand Forks Memorial Day Mass, 10 a.m., Calvary North Cemetery, located at the intersection of Gateway Drive and Columbia Road North.

Grand Forks Memorial Day ceremony, 11 a.m., South Memorial Park Cemetery, 3002 S. Washington St.

Thief River Falls:
Thief River Falls Memorial Day service, 10:30 a.m., Greenwood Cemetery, 209 Greenwood St. E.
