Emergency Medical Services Week

Posted: Updated:
Heart attacks, strokes, broken bones, there's a wide variety of services that emergency responders are called out to, and now we thank them as it is Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week.

Nearly 80 calls are made to F-M Ambulance everyday, and they should be recognized for their work and quick action.

Thursday evening the F-M community can thank first responders in person. An open house is being held from 4-6:30 p.m. at the Sanford AirMed hanger. that's just north of the Fargo Air Museum at 1756 23rd Ave N.

Thursday evening will be a time to visit with First Responders, EMTs and Paramedics. People can see what kind of equipment is being used during an emergency, and tour the vehicles.

Kids can enjoy a bouncy house and meet 'Andy the Ambulance'.

One piece of equipment new to North Dakota, and the F-M area is the Lucas CPR Machine. The new technology will be an extra set of hands for paramedics while out on a call. Currently F-M Ambulance has two machines, but are working towards having one for each vehicle.

Once again the EMS Open House is Thursday May 22nd from 4-6:30 p.m. at the Sanford AirMed hanger.
