Jim Richter, EGF Economic Development Director Resigns

Posted: Updated:
East Grand Forks Economic Development Director, Jim Richter has just resigned.
Richter found himself in the middle of a controversy, after signing off on a half-million dollar City loan to an investment group, which purchased the Boardwalk
building that houses bars and restaurants. The group never made any payments on that loan.
Richter had already been put on administrative leave, before resigning from his 82-thousand dollar a year job. The City Council is expected to formally accept Richter's resignation at tonight's council meeting.
City Administrator, David Murphy says he does not expect any legal action against Richter.
