Police Search for Suspect Who Took Cash from Valley City AmericInn

Police in Valley City are looking for a suspect who burglarized a hotel early Monday morning. The Valley City Police department says it happened at the AmericInn on Wintershow Road just before 4:00 a.m.

Police say a man went into the office area of the hotel and left with the business safe and money from the front desk till.  The suspect is described as approximately 6'0," wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt and dark blue colored pants. His face was covered by the hooded sweatshirt and a dark cloth.

After picking up the safe and the cash, the suspect ran out a back door and was last seen running around the southeast corner of the Bridges Bar and Grill at 264 Wintershow Road. The suspect ended up dropping the safe while running away, and it was recovered by the Valley City Police department. It is unknown how much cash the burglar got away with.
