Posted: Updated:
The Minnesota House has approved more than $1 billion in construction projects around the state.

The bonding package, a combination of cash and borrowing, passed the house about 3:00 Friday morning.  Minnesota Senators will take it up next.

The largest single item is $126 million to complete the State Capitol renovation.  Other projects include $87 million for local road and bridge repairs, $61 million for civic center projects and $100 million for affordable housing.

The House overwhelmingly passed the $846 million borrowing portion by a vote of 92-40. An additional $200 million in cash passed a short time later, 82-50.
