Breanna and Garret Odle, the parents of Jaylin Odle who was clipped by a car this morning say they would like to see the intersection of 18th Street and 26th Avenue South have some upgraded safety measures installed. Today they told Valley News Live that nearly a dozen kids cross that three-way intersection everyday to hop on the bus. Adding that they hope this incident will urge city engineers to consider installing a cross walk, yeild sign or stop sign to allow a safer crossing for the children who use the route.

Jaylin will have to stay at Essentia Health through Thursday evening. She has some minor scratches and bruises but is expected to go back home sometime Friday.

A 6-year-old girl is in the hospital after being hit by a car early Thursday morning in South Fargo.

The girl's mom tells Valley News Live her daughter was waiting for the school bus with some neighbor kids when the accident happened. Fargo officers say the girl was hit on a busy stretch of road near 18th Street South and 26th Avenue South.

Officers say some neighborhood kids nearby yelled the bus was coming and apparently the 6-year-old ran out into the street. An oncoming PT Cruiser couldn't stop in time and clipped the girl.

The mother of the girl who got hit says her daughter rarely rides the bus. She tells us her daughter will be kept in the hospital overnight, but is doing okay and just has some bumps and scratches.

Police say at this point they don't believe any charges will be filed against the driver.
