Area Breweries Celebrate National Craft Beer Week

Posted: Updated:
It's American Craft Beer Week and several small and independent craft breweries are celebrating their local handcrafted beer. May 12-18 is the time for beer lovers to head to a local bar or taproom and enjoy the ever advancing beer culture in the U.S.

The week is a chance for fans of locally made beer to celebrate the nearly 2,500 craft breweries that have sprung up across the nation in recent years. According to the brewers association, craft beers made up nearly 8% of the overall beer market by volume in 2013.

Fargo Brewing Company, JL Beers, Zorbaz, 99 Bottles, Brick and Barley, and Happy Harry's are just a few of the places you can celebrate this week. Fargo Brewing Company will have new beer on tap each day this week to celebrate American Craft Beer Week.

The week encourages everyone to drink local and try out the flavors of your area. Other local breweries include Junkyard Brewing Company in Moorhead and Drekker Brewing Company in Fargo.
