The North Dakota State baseball team (20-22) cruised to an 18-2 victory over Winnipeg (5-36) on Sunday, May 11, at Newman Outdoor Field to complete the three-game series sweep of the Wesmen.
NDSU outscored Winnipeg in the weekend three-game series, 41-6, and tallied a combined 39 hits compared to 20 for the Wesmen.
Five Bison each collected two RBI in the game, led byAndy Wicklund, who went 3-for-5 at the plate with a pair of RBI and a double, his fourth of the season, whileWes Satzingercrushed his first triple of 2014.Aiden Hook(2), Wicklund (3), andDavid Ernst(2) each posted multiple hits in the contest.
Sean Terrespitched two innings in relief, allowing one earned run on one hit with a strikeout, to pick up the victory and move to 2-2 on the season.
NDSU posted five runs in the fifth inning to balloon a 2-1 lead to a 7-1 advantage.Jon Hechtnerdoubled to centerfield, bringing inPaul Funk, and Hook crossed home plate for NDSU's second run of the inning on a Wesmen passed ball.Nick Altavillastroked a double down the left field line, scoring Hechtner and Satzinger, and Wicklund singled home Altavilla for the Bison's fifth run of the inning.

With the win, NDSU improves to 20-22 overall, marking the fifth consecutive season the Bison have reached the 20-win mark, while Winnipeg falls to 5-36 on the season.
The Bison are scheduled to host Summit League rival South Dakota State in the final home series of the season at Newman Outdoor Field Thursday, May 15, through Saturday, May 17. NDSU will open the four-game set against the Jackrabbits with a single game Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
