ATV Safety High Priority in LaMoure County

Posted: Updated:
Volunteers in LaMoure County, North Dakota were overwhelmed by a showing of support over an effort to make the community safer.
The North Dakota Parks and Rec Department held an ATV safety class Saturday morning. The issue hits home in LaMoure County, after three young boys were killed in three separate ATV accidents over the last few years. Volunteers hoped to entice kids to take the class by offering them a free helmet, but they were pleasantly surprised when 41 kids signed up for the Off Highway Vehicle Safety Class.
Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and farming families, they were able to gather enough money to purchase each person a helmet.
It was such a success, they're planning a snowmobile safety class as well.
